Lorna Nakell

This painting was inspired by Ted Kooser’s poem titled “The Goldfish Floats to the Top of His Life.”

This is the initial sketch.  I’m not much of a sketcher.  I really just like to get to work on the real painting.

The heart and black sections are done in gouache.

The phone is also done in gouache.  The goldfish is done in watercolor so it is a little looser.

This is the final painting.  The design is based on the golden spiral.
